Kurrimine Beach Home
Project in progress → photos coming soon…
This project explores how thoughtful, targeted interventions can completely reshape the experience of arriving home.
Rather than extending the existing dwelling, the design focuses on reimagining the boat shed, garage and entry sequence, transforming a series of functional structures into a cohesive architectural frontage that feels intentional, welcoming and connected.
A new sheltered carport and entry hall create a clearer threshold between public and private space, while selective recladding and carefully integrated forms unify the existing buildings into one considered composition. Vertical timber textures, standing seam steel and a restrained material palette bring warmth and longevity while responding to the relaxed coastal character of Kurrimine Beach.
The result is a project that respects what already exists while elevating the everyday experience of coming and going, proving that meaningful design doesn’t always require more space, but a better relationship between the spaces we already have.
