“When you plant a tree, you serve every living being on the planet.”

Giving Back

At Bahu Design Studio, we see design as an opportunity to create a more thoughtful relationship between people, place, and the natural world. Alongside designing healthy, enduring spaces, we aim to minimise environmental impact through careful material choices, adaptive reuse, passive design principles, and a considered response to site and climate.

We recognise that construction carries an environmental footprint. Rather than claiming to fully offset this impact, we contribute to regeneration initiatives through tree planting and reforestation programs in both Australia and India as one small part of a broader, long-term approach to more conscious building practices.

Our work is also guided by biophilic design principles — incorporating natural light, ventilation, planting, and materials that foster wellbeing and a stronger connection to nature.

At the heart of our practice is a simple belief: that buildings should not only support the people who inhabit them, but also sit more gently within the landscapes they become part of.

Donations

As part of our commitment to more conscious building practices, a portion of selected projects contributes toward regeneration initiatives in Australia and India. These donations support tree planting, ecological restoration, and community-led environmental programs that aim to give back to the landscapes we build within.

Green Shakti

Green Sakthi is a community-led environmental initiative based in India focused on tree planting, land regeneration, and ecological restoration. Their work supports the renewal of natural landscapes through grassroots planting initiatives and long-term care for the land.

Greenfleet

Greenfleet is an Australian environmental organisation dedicated to restoring native forests and protecting biodiversity through legally protected reforestation projects. Their work focuses on planting resilient native ecosystems that support long-term carbon sequestration and habitat restoration across Australia.
